The Work of Byron Katie Facilitator / C+F Institute for Transpersonal Studies President / Japan Transpersonal Association and Faculty of The Enneagram Institute Co-Founder

Timothy McLean is a Facilitator of The Work of Byron Katie, president of the C+F Institute for Transpersonal Studies, co-founder of the Japan Transpersonal Association, and Faculty of The Enneagram Institute. For more than 25 years, Tim has been leading retreats, seminars, and training sessions on psychology, personal growth, communication, and leadership for businesses, educational and medical institutions in the United States and Asia, including Japan (in Japanese and English). Since 1999, Tim has worked extensively as a forum and education resource for The Young Presidents’ Organization (http://www.ypo.org) and the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (http://www.eonetwork.org/) in the USA, Australia, China, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Mongolia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. He has personally coached hundreds of company presidents and CEOs in forums for profound inquiry, discovery, and personal growth in their business, family, and personal lives.

Tim’s workshops and programs assist individuals, teams, and organizations to discover and develop their unique capacities, build trust, and cross-cultural collaboration through highly effective methods of self-reflection, communication, and team/leadership development.  Outstanding among these methods are the Enneagram of personality types, an incredibly precise and profound map of human consciousness and The Work of Byron Katie, a simple and powerful method of inquiry and awakening.  The Enneagram helps us identify and understand our limiting patterns and our highest potentials.  The Work of Byron Katie shows us how to question our stressful thoughts and limiting stories and discover the peace of mind, clarity, and creativity that is always available.

Tim is also an authority on traditional Japanese culture and spirituality, and leads retreats on Zen practice for modern life, and walking Pilgrimages to the 88 Sacred Temples of Shikoku. He is co-author in Japanese of “Psychotherapy and Meditation, Transpersonal Therapies, and The Enneagram: Knowing Who You Are.” He is a co- translator of “The Wisdom of the Enneagram” by Don Riso & Russ Hudson, “Loving What Is” and “A Thousand Names for Joy” by Byron Katie. Tim has appeared on Japanese television and radio programs many times and has worked as a consultant for a variety of television programs including the award-winning NHK special “The Brain and the Mind” and “Tibetan Book of the Dead.” He has been living in Japan since 1981. He currently resides in the Izu National Park area, southwest of Tokyo, with his wife Yoshiko Takaoka, a counselor, writer and workshop facilitator.

As a “Find Your Element” Leader, Tim will deliver a 150-minute Workshop on “Loving What Is: Inquiry with the Work of Byron Katie.”

    This Workshop will aim to:

◆ Identify the places in your thinking where you are stuck, frustrated or suffering using The Work
